Gift Aid allows you to increase the amount of your donations to charity by reclaiming basic-rate Income Tax on your giving. Gift Aid is available to you as long as you are a UK taxpayer.
You are a UK taxpayer if:
Gift Aid can be applied to both one-off and regular donations of any size. As you pay money into your Charity Cheques Account, LCVS reclaims the income tax at the basic rate on your payment through the Gift Aid scheme, increasing the amount that you have available for distribution to charity.
We will ask you to sign a Gift Aid Declaration form. You only need to do this once, and it will enable us to reclaim tax on your behalf on all your future payments to us.
If you are a higher-rate taxpayer, you are entitled to reclaim the difference between the basic rate of income tax and the higher rate of income tax on your payments to your Charity Cheques Account. The statements we send you make this very straightforward, and the tax relief goes directly to you.
You can make a donation of part, or all, of any tax repayment due as a result of completing your Self Assessment Tax Return. Nominate Liverpool Charity and Voluntary Services to receive any repayment, using code VAJ06FG, and your donation will be added to your Charity Cheques Account to be distributed to as many charities as you wish.
